Auckland & Waiheke

 

Waiheke is just a short Ferry trip (or Chopper for any Investment Bankers) from Auckland. So most of the hard work is getting to Auckland. Given the time of year, we highly recommend that you don't leave your flight bookings until the last moment.

 

From Perth

 

While Qantas has annouced it will start flying from Perth to Auckland direct, at this stage it is only Air New Zealand that have direct flight. For the plane buffs out there, they are using Boeing 787 dreamliners which are sweet as. The direct flight from Perth is a red-eye but at about 8 hours and reasonably priced premium- economy & business class, it is the easiest way.

 

Alternatively, flights via Melbourne and Sydney are available using Qantas (& Emirates) or Virgin (& Air NZ). You'll leave Perth fairly early in the morning and arrive in Auckland fairly late at night thanks to the 5 hour time difference.

From Elsewhere

 

You are probably some International high-flyer or Asian Property Mogul  (ladies please click here). Just get you Executive Assistant to book your business class seat like you normally do.

 

 

Once In Auckland

 

If you are arriving in Auckland in the evening or night, it is probably best to stay the night in Auckland (if not for a few days). There are plenty of good hotels. If you are taking the Ferry or Car Ferry to Waiheke, take note of your departing marina or harbour so you don't need to drive or cab too far. Some Ferries leave from the CBD, others leave a 30-40 minute drive from CBD.
